You will love it ajh.this is our 17th year .been all over except the east side.I just had a wobble about what's going on over it now thanks to replies on here.not like me maybe it's an age thing.the toll roads are good lots of Aires to stop.we don't go on them much now as we like like to go at a slower pace and you do see more of France. Have good time.

We are the same Bellringer18. First went to France about 8 years ago and have been every year since. If you haven't tried east, I would really recommend Alsace (wine route, lakes, Frieburg in Germany for the day) and not too far to drive. Also the Alps - stunning but further.

Angela - have a great time! The food and wine is wonderful. The motorways are unbelievably empty. The worst bit is arriving back in the UK and having to drive home on our lorry clogged motorways, followed by having to buy British bread again (or at least struggling to get a decent loaf).

The east is on our too do list benski when hubby retires properly he works couple days a week.will have more time then.

We are going next week and until I read this post didn't even think about it. Probably Paris is the most risky place but not any more than London. You have to do what you want to do and if you think of all the dangers involved you would never do anything - Just go and enjoy

We aren't going to France this year but when we do, the Bataclan and some of those little pavement cafes will certainly get a visit. Paris is a lovely city and #WeAreNotAfraid
