We visited Camping La Forge nearish La Rochelle last summer and loved it. Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere similar for us to go this summer?
We are looking for somewhere that is within 7 hours drive of the coast in France, similar in size (small) to La Forge, with a pool but would like it within walking distance of a village (somewhere to buy bread at least).
Any recommendations would be wonderful!
Thanks

Hi Anna, Which ferry port is your seven hour drive starting from, and which area do you want to go to ? There must be hundreds of suitable campsites so can you narrow it down a bit please.
We usually travel Newhaven to Dieppe and I'd like to go no further than the bottom of the Dordogne but maximize our chances of sun hot and sunny weather.
We are looking for a green, quiet site with less than 50 pitches and a pool. We have 3 young children who are happy to play with other children on site so we don't need "annimations" necessarily.
There are literally hundreds of campsites which I think is our problem:)

If you can get to the Dordogne in your seven hours driving time then Domaine des Mathevies (40 pitches) is a site which other people with young children write enthusiastic reviews about - but it's not in the heart of a village I'm afraid .
