France is huge, I just think wherever you are, even Dorset, you have as much chance as getting caught up in something as anywhere else, which amounts to basically very little chance. I'm not a worrier and tend to be a free spirit but I do admit I would try to avoid public gatherings, not just in France though. The nutters MO at the moment seems to be attacking public places with large numbers of people. Some food for thought.....
In France, in the last two years, there have been eight attacks, killing a total of 247 people. There are 66 million people in France. At the current level of activity, their odds of being killed in a terrorist attack in a given year are less than two ten-thousandths of one per cent. That’s 27 times lower than their odds of dying in a car accident.
It is estimated that the empirical annual probability of a UK resident dying from a preventable cause (e.g. smoking, drinking, obesity, adverse hospital events, violence etc) is 1 in 417, this being 38,000 times higher than the empirical annual probability of a UK resident being killed by a terrorist of about 1 in 16 million.

this is so true. dont let media hype spoil your fun.
i have worked in Israel a number of times and even with rocket attacks out of Gaza you are still more likely to die in a car accident than any terrorist attack.
i dont think french terrorist cells will waste there time on obscure seaside resorts when there are big cities and events to exploit.
i was in Dorset last august at highlands end near west bay. it rained all week and one night blew a severe gale trashing a number of awnings and driving all of the tent campers away by the morning, it was frightening. this is why i vowed there and then to go to france this year. i hope this current warm weather stays with you as apart from the weather there are some nice places to visit in Dorset.
