It's a bit twisty, but no problem. We used it to get to Lake Garda. Came back another way, so didn't climb it

Hi Mick, if you take the A8 through Germany and then take the A7 at Ulm, this leads straight on to the Fern Pass it`s a fairly easy climb; we used this route last year to go to Garda,it is about 160kms shorter than going via Munich.

You are better going South on the Fern rather than coming up North on it.
