We've been doing France the last few years and are thinking of Portugal for next year (early days I know).
The first thing to consider is traveling (car & caravan) is it via Santander? then whats the route to Portugal like and typical traveling times, if I was to aim for the Med' side would it need a stop off.
Just thinking about options for now, any advice appreciated.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
What do you mean by the med side? I'm heading there end of September but will travel through France and Spain entering Portugal in the South, heading for turiscampo for a few weeks
From Santander you can either go via north coast of Spain, getting the wonderful Santiago de Compostela en route ... then Vigo and into north of Portugal (my favourite area) ....
Or
Head via Burgos, Valladolid, Salamanca and into Portugal around the middle ...
Or
As Grandad Kenny says ... in through the south ... though that means a long drive down to Cadiz-ish ... then turn right to the Algarve ... and back up through Portugal to the north.

Thanks for that, as I asked the question looking for a response based on experience and knowledge.
