Hi All
We will be making our way from Calais to near Tours. We want to stop off for 2 nights somewhere nearish en route so we can make a day trip to Paris.

Can anyone recommend a campsite please? Doesn't necessarily have to be in Paris, just within easy reach of a fast train (30-45 mins) into the centre.

We have 3 young children

Many thanks
Anna

On the west side of Paris you'll find Camping International at Maisons Laffitte, and from the town you can get the RET into Paris. Three years ago a 'whole daya ticket' giving you access to all the Parisian travel zones, was 10 euros. The station is walking distance from the site.

Further south is Huttopia at Versailles, same side of Paris, also a train station nearby.

We stayed at Huttopia Rambouillet last year which we chose as it was close to a train line to both Paris and Versailles.

Rambouillet was really easy to drive to which was another reason to choose it, I really didn't want to negotiate Paris traffic. The campsite was a bit of a trek out of the village but that didn't really bother us...bikes were useful though!

The train journey to both Paris and Versailles was remarkably easy.

We have done Camping International, walking distance of the train station and small supermarkets. Would use it again for Paris.

why not stay over on the Disney car park as loads do ?
WE have stayed on there 3 times they have showers and service areas.
They even let you have a pass out so you can come and go as you please plus easy access to the park or catch the train into paris.
