Hi all

I am currently in Frejus camping and due to not being organised myself i have a charcoal grill which is not allowed💥.

Does anyone know if there is a camping or caravaning nearby where I could by a Cadac or similar? Tried Carrefour casino and decathlon with no luck.ps I have an external has point on the FC here ( a pathfinder ). Presumably just a hose and a jubilee clip will suffice?

You might get something at a caravanning shop, such as
Narbonne Accessoires MANDELIEU -
PARC D ACTIVITES DE LA ROUBINE,CH.LEVASSOR PARKING MISTRAL-CC
06210 MANDELIEU LA NAPOULE

which is a bit further east along the coast then Frejus. There is another caravan accessories place in Bormes les Mimosas, but that's as far in the other direction. They do have an on line catalogue though:
Caravar and that shows a SafariChef and another more expensive version.

I would suggest you buy a cheap Raclette Grill from a French supermarket, and barbecue your meat on the top, then cook peppers, mushrooms, sauces, and melt some cheese, in the little dishes underneath the grill. Great fun - and useful at home too.

Lots of raclette recipes on here in an earlier thread.

If you can get the gas bbq, you will need a proper connector for your external point, a jubilee clip will not suffice. I have to say when I bought my quartz 4 with bbq point, I had a job getting the right connector, only certain places seemed to sock it.

I understand that in the Var region no BBQs of any sort are allowed, following the severe fires in the region a few years back.

I have just checked with a couple of campsites in Frejus, some allow only electric BBQs others only allow gas BBQs in the designated paved area! Coal/charcoal are not allowed.

I picked up a little Weber Go Anywhere Gas grill with its own gas canisters yesterday at Castorama near to Napoule. I did wonder about the difficulty of using the BBQ point on the unit, I for one have no real desire to start fiddling with gas points with zilch knowledge.

Thanks Val for recommending Narbonne accessories we drove there but got there just after it shut for lunch! Worth it in the end because I spent a bit of time on the beach in Napoule.

We also were not allowed to use a gas bbq on a site in Frejus.
