We use the one provided by our insurance broker. We have checked with them that it gives us all we need for travelling in Europe. However, we haven't yet had to use it.
------------- Freedom is a light caravan and an open road.
Try German ADAC second to none, very reasonable under £100 for whole year includes UK too. Been Members 10 years used 4 times twice with the caravan as the problem . Each in a different country. Can give you contact details and cover in English.
If you are a member of any of the clubs buy it through them and the caravan will be covered, we have rac arrival through c&cc, our caravan is 8m. However, had to use it last year and rac did what they say, got car and van back but with damage, currently with ombudsman. Red pennant seems to have good reviews.
Buying it through the Clubs cost you an arm and a leg. ADAC excellent for 1 year, not just the length of your holiday.. Our caravan 8 metres ok as they cover up to 10 meres. Any age vehicle too.
We just get it through the ferry company for as long as we are away.
------------- Hypercamp Alaska
Vango Force 10 mk3
Vango F10 Helium 1
Coleman Cobra Pro 3
Coleman Cobra 2
Naturehike Star River 2
Eureka! Solitaire
Dutch army goretex bivvy bag
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Is ADAC just for vehicles? We currently have Red Pennant motoring & personal annual cover. Just got renewal quote but gone up (again) and only 31day cover.
Anyone recommend alternative?

The ADAC 'Plus' Membership I got includes 30 Days cover from the date you leave home for Personal Health cover in Europe, and 45 days from the day you leave home for the rest of the World.
While the Breakdown cover is for anywhere in the World for 365 days and covers any age of vehicle.
Having said that my good lady and I have travelled extensively in Europe going for a lot longer than 30 days and had occasion to visit a few Hospitals or Health Centers over the number of years we have been going while on each visit we have presented our EHIC Card and because the cause of our visit was an Emergency we have had no problems in getting excellent treatment.
In a couple of the countries you have to pay a small fee, which has been no more than about €30, (Registration/Doctor/Medication) but we have subsequently claimed that back from the DWP when we got back to the UK.
The only thing the normal EHIC card will not do is Repatriate you back to the UK should the need arise.
However you can take out something called EHIC+ (EHIC PLUS) that charges a premium and that then includes the Repatriation should it be needed, but I think that has an age limit on it.
If you decide to go for EHIC+ then make sure it is a pucker website as there have been a couple of dodgy ones set up!
Hope that helps
