We have been to Croatia for the last 6 years.
In a fast car you can drive down in 3 days/2 nights. Have used both the France/Germany/Austria/Slovenia route and the France/Germany Austria/Italy route. If your vehicle does not like BIG hills use the latter.
The camp sites are excellent, as most of the campers are Germans/Dutch/Italians who demand very high standards.
Would recommend some of the smaller camp sites on the islands for peace and quiet or the bigger mainland sites for facilities like swimming pools and entertainment.
