We're traveling soon as out first overseas trip to la moustir. Between carnac and trinity.. couldn't get ferry to tie in with check in so will arrive caen around 9.30 pm. As we will have been on the road from 7 am we will all be tired but couldn't get an affordable ferry crossing to tie in with late check ins to our site..so we need to find an overnight plan. We won't mind driving part of the route (though concious of time.). and so wondered if anyone can recommend a camp site en route that we are likely to get into?..or any safe stop over areas (and how that works) . Not sure i can park up at the port or if safe, do stops have any facilities? We have a 6 berth motorhome. Any advise welcome. Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
There is a site at Ouistreham 5 minutes from the ferry terminal, it used to stay open for the ferry. It was a municipal but is now privately owned.
Its a big site with reasonable facilities.

Its camping Le Riva Bella-used to be called Les Pommiers.
If you go into the campsite search on here, its under Normandy and Oiustreham, all the info there.

Warbis66 I think if my Chap had his way he'd have the whole holiday in a hotel... the van was a compromise to his one and only holiday in my vintage flower power tent..and my son would probably be sold if it includes wi fi.!!
Thanks Harry b. I emailed them through this site yesterday as looks ideal. Waiting to hear back if space as I assume we couldn't just turn up and hope at that time of night. Fingers crossed.
Relax Smiler, it's not like going to a UK Club site. Just follow all the other British outfits rolling in. Have your money ready and pay the man at the gate - for a caravan pitch for two people €25 with electricity or €17 without, for a motor home pitch €12. They don't turn away people with cash. Bon voyage.
