We're heading out on 9 Septemberfor 4 weeks. Still not quite sure where or even which county or countries we'll visit!
I was quite surprised that some of the big campsite chains are closing as early as mid September. Even here in UK sites seem to be open until October half term.
We're at camping A l'oula near Annecy, arrived Saturday to find the site full, and the cafe/takeaway closed. They shut it on the 31st August, although no mention on their website.
As we travel by motorbike, we have no room to take food with us, so after unloading the bike it was a quick walk to the supermarket.

I think lots of 'normal' visitors to France have carried on further south, for cheaper prices!! We've met several people, this week, on the way back from Spain, who say they normally holiday in Southern France, but have noticed prices creeping up this last year, so have carried on to get more value for their euros.
Absolutely ... talking to a couple to-day who came down from La Rochelle.
Lots of three course 'Menu del Dia' with wine/beer/drink included for well under 10 euros.
Pretty well everything in Spain seems cheaper ... and ASCI, now, making a big difference ... the site we are on quoted 31 euros for two/caravan/LX/Car ... on production of ACSI card that quote tumbled to 17 euros!
