We're thinking of stopping at Sitges near Barcelona on our way to Benidorm. Can anyone recommend a good site close to the centre, don't care what facilities they've got, just good location. The ACSI site seems quite a walk from town centre. Also my partner went to the resort years ago and it was nice, is it still nice or has it gone down hill like so many other towns.
Thanks

Plenty of space, hot showers. We use bikes to get into town but there is a bus stop just outside. You can also get a bus into Barcelona just outside the gates. We will be there again in October.
We went to el harrower 12 years ago it was ok much like other Spanish campsites but Toilets, Showers etc were dreadful. If someone has visited it lately they would know if they are now much improved.
Can't see any search results for El Harrower, perhaps it should haver read El Garrofer?.
Anyway thanks for your inputs, looks like its a choice between Garrofer and Camping Sitges.

Sitges is one of my favourite places and I don't think it has gone downhill at all but I can't help with campsites I'm afraid. The one we always used to stay at no longer exists.
Thanks Jenny, did you cross a railway line to walk into town? It's 30 years since my OH stayed at Sitges and she doesn't think this one (El garrofer) is the one she stayed in. We're about a mile out of town here.
El Garroffer has a bus from outside the front gate into the town, or into Barcelona. From the back gate, you could easily walk down to the seafront and beach, when we were there. We really liked it, and stayed for a couple of weeks one November. Are you there now?

Yes we're there now. Arrived last night. It's quite expensive at €20 a night with ACSI. We'll have a look round and get the scooter off today. We'll probably stay a couple of nights and move on.
Hope you are enjoying it! I am pretty sure the one we used to stay at was north of the railway line. We were gutted when it shut down and haven't tried to find a new site in Sitges.
