Hi all. Just booked next years caravan holls in the black forest (camping-kirchzarten) and will be hopefully doing the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route. My question is, does anyone know the best route once back on dry land and also to recommend a 1 night stop over about half to 2/3rds of the way. Thanks in advance.

We went there in August and going back next year. It's a great, clean site with an amazing swimming complex next door. The views are tremendous and great walking, if you like that sort of thing.
We went from Hook of Holland, Nijmegen, Venlo then down the A61 for about 200 odd miles to Karlsrure and the A5 to Freiburg. I can't recommend a stop over and we did it in one go in about 9 hours with a couple of stops.

Hi,does anyone know if camping Kirchzarten in the acsi book . Cheers Mick
An excellent ACSI Camping Card Site is Trend Camping at near to Wolfach situated in the centre of the Black Forest. Freiberg is right down in the South West Corner.
Can send you photo's if you email me at dvphillips14 at hotmail.co.uk
arthurdent as we have never been swimming there I don't really know but I believe I saw something written that there is swimming nearby. I will check and get back on here.
It was very hot at Trend when we arrived and had it stayed thus I would have really mssed somewhere to swim. AS it happened the weather changed and it wasn't an issue. I cannot recall seeing somewhere to swim in the vicinity. However, it is well located for the black forest region and probably has the best toilet block we have come across while camping.
I have a photo of the swimming pool arthurdent if you email me I will send it to you dvphillips14 at hotmail.com
Sorry cannot put it on here as am on iPad at the mo. I found picture etc on Trend Camping Face Book page. Above it it says.
Hello dear friends right next to our campsite is a sports and leisure Centre "Bisse" There is the swimming pool. This area can be used by our guests free of charge.
We stayed at Munstertal this year again (highly recommended) and have to be honest wouldn't want to stay anywhere in BF in summer that didn't have a pool of some sort on site. Was up in high 30's a number of days so the outside pool was well used (indoor one too warm for me)
Hard thing with sites we all have our own needs and priorities and things we enjoy

We did a reccy at Munstertal and thought it was a better site than Kirchzarten but our pool next door swung it for us and our two eight year old Tom Daley wannabee's.
We stayed at Bad Honningen and Rudesheim en route to the black forest. Both are on the Rhine and very good, Rudesheim is better and a more touristy town.
Have a great time.
