Hi everyone

The year before last we travelled to Costa Brava and stayed at Playa Montroig we all really enjoyed it. (apart from driving back and every petrol station we found was closed and was running on fumes!! )
We did have a couple of niggles with the campsite which was size of the pitches was smaller than expected so basically if your sat outside the awning with 4 chairs and table your nearly on the road! Not a busy road as we was only 4 pitches from the lovely beaches but nearly every person had good noisy to see what I was doing, eating, drinking and we just lost all privacy for the 14 nights!

So basically was are looking for a site that has
Close to beaches
Pool
Restaurants
Bar
Some Entertainment
and of course pitches that are not so exposed! I was looking before we booked a couple of years ago at
L'Amfora as the pitches are 180m2 with toilet block and the pitches looked that they had privacy hedges?
Has anyone stayed on these pitches before are they more private than the normal pitches which face the road/paths?

I have read many good things about L'Amfora on here but wanted to see if there was other sites similar to that, not bothered if its further South in Spain.

Thanks for taking your time to read my post and look forward to your replies

Thanks
Simon

We stayed at Els Prats Village for 2 nights on our way to Benidorm. It's next to Playa Montroig, we were 50m from the beach, the pitches were a nice width with hedges round them. The pools are good but not deep enough for my liking (1.2m) there's a water slide too.
€17/night in ACSI. Supermarket/bar/restaurant all on site.

The private bathroom pitches at L'Amfora are quite private, with high hedges between. However, some of the other pitches at L'Amfora are quite large too - we had one at the 'top' end of the site, overlooking open country, high hedge behind us, no road adjacent, and all the space we could need.

We've stayed there twice now and the newest sanitary block is really outstanding - the one to the 'south' of the site.

Hi Val

Can you remember which pitch numbers you stayed at? also do you know when booking is available for 2017.

Thanks
Simon

I don't know about booking opening time, Simon, because we never book. I would just email them to ask, if you're not already able to book on line. I think our pitch was either 4034 or 4036 on time, and perhaps 4071 another time (in the area to the right of the map - the 100 m sq pitches) - but I couldn't swear to it. You can have a look at the site layout map, but have to scroll down and down and down the website, but it is there! The 'bathroom pitches' are those in the dark green area, at the beach end of the map (left hand side). I think some of the other pitches in the centre of the site might feel cramped. The best sanitary block is the one at the top of the campsite map.

I was going to ask if you've had a look at 'Camping Street View' where someone cycles around a site, showing all the facilities, including some pitches. I haven't looked at L'Amfora but know it's on there.

Camping Street View, L'Amfora
