Hi All,

We're looking for campsite recommendations for our family summer holiday next August please.

We're a family of five, two adults, a 6 year old and two 2 year olds (ages as at next August!).

Previously we have been to a couple of Yelloh Village sites on the Mediterranean coast (Le Brasilia and Serignan Plage) with our own tent when we were fewer in number and we're really looking for this sort of site again which has direct access to the beach and on the Mediterranean coast. Obviously we could go to either of these sites again as we really enjoyed both but ideally we're looking for other options so any help would be appreciated.

We will be taking our own tent and would like to book soon so we have something to look forward to ( I don't think you can book with Yelloh Village until some point in November).

We haven't been, but there are lots of recommendations on here for Les Sablons at Portiragnes Plage.

Yep Les sablons is fabulous, but get in quick they book up really quickly.

Les Sablons our absolute favourite if you book via Eurocamp independent your 6 year old can join in their excellent kids club. As Clare says they get fully booked very quickly. E area has the nicest pitches. Loads of restaurants within walking distance too!

Hi,
Les sablons every year for us. We usually go on the etang pitches but there is a possibility of lodge tents being sited there for next summer, so there will be fewer touring pitches. The tamaris area is good though, allowing you to get away from any noise from the bar area. It's a great site for all the family; it's still family owned & run, so not quite as manicured as the chain sites, but has friendly staff with a good mix of nationalities & it's right on the beach!

In my view, the best site on the Med is Camping Aquarius, which is just over the Spanish border.

It is a fantastic site, with direct beach access, the beach is one of the nicest beaches in the world. The campsite is well maintained, really clean and perfect for young children.

The drive is really not much further than French sites on the Med, it is less than an hour from Perpignan.

The site also won the Alan Rogers campsite of the year in 2014.

This year we went to La Yole Wine Resort . It was a huge site with pools and slides. The site had good shops and plenty of entertainment. From a side gate it was a Short walk to the beach.

Thank you all for your replies.

From visiting the websites of these campsites it would appear that they don't accept bookings until November for next year. How have people found booking, is it a big rush and is it from the 1st November?

I've emailed a couple of sites and get the stock answer that they take bookings from 'November'.
