It sounds as though the campsite in Ypres itself might suit you. There are 56 reviews on here.

The campsite in Ypres is in a excellent location, easy walk into the centre,we were there Anzac Day 2015. (April 25th)Depending on time of year I would book in advance. Also the campsite for Brugge is in a excellent place about 5-10 min on the bus and is well worth a visit into town, we have stayed here twice. But you should book in Advance or aim to get there early as its very popular.

Hi,

Just seen your post. We stayed at Camping Ypra, it is located in Kemmel, last Easter for two weeks. Great for visiting the battle fields. Ypres is about 5-10 miles away.

http://www.camping-ypra.be/

I would recommend this site, friendly owners, they speak some English. There is a bar on site but doesn't serve food. If you walk into Kemmel, 10 minutes away, there are several restaurants, a really nice bakery, a small mini market etc.

I would book in advance as it is popular with the Belgians.

I hope this of help.

Thanks

John

In Ieper ( Ypres ) a must visit is "In Flanders Fields" museum in the Lakenhalle ( Cloth Hall ).

The "Walkers Bar" 200 yards from the Menin Gate after the 8 o'clock evening sounding of "The Last Post" is popular with all, Brits, Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians etc.

"De Trumpet" in the square also popular, try the "Flemish Stew".

Hooge Crater Museum and CWGC cemetery certainly worth a visit. From the museum, drive 300/350 yards South on the Menin Road, turn into the "Casteelhof T'Hooge" hotel, park on the car park and wander around the gardens.

A walk along the ramparts of Ieper ( Ypres ) is also very interesting.

Hoping to return soon.
