we go over several times a year, our last trip was October 1/2 term. We didn't see any trouble, the tunnel was quiet and running smoothly. I might not park a motor home or caravan overnight near the port though.

We went through the tunnel on Tuesday. No sign of any trouble but I think it was mostly nearer the port in any case.

Thank you we are going tunnel and normally park on stopover at Carrefours near the new temporary police station hope its still there.

Been through Calais many times over the last few years and never had a problem, maybe I have just been lucky bit would not worry about it, especially on the way out, travel in daylight hours on the way back. Have a good trip.

We went to Lille and back last weekend via the tunnel & up the coast as far as Grande Synthe. We didn't see anything out of the ordinary. But all we have ever seen that 'might be' refugees was three black men walking along a road a few years ago.

There is still a camp at Grande Synthe but you can't see it from the road. The Jungle has gone and the people dispersed around France. It wasn't done in the best way and both the British and French governments have egg on their faces, but hey it's done now.
Our friends have been helping at the Jungle for the last year or so. Don't know how they do it with 3 kids and a busy life. Not really relevant, I know, but I'm soo proud of them!

Currently at a B&B hotel in St Quentin having just watched the Stricltly final on FilmOn and now watching Miss France on the hotel telly. This after a cloudless week skiing on empty slopes in the Alps. Came through the tunnel a week past Wednesday and going back through tomorrow laden with as many Christmas goodies as we've been able to fit in the car. No problems going out and there won't be any coming back either.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Bit by bit the migrants are coming back to Calais and the site at Dunkerque is becoming bigger. Lorry drivers are still being advised not to stop within 100 miles of the channel ports. Probably not too much of a problem for cars but would still be very aware.
