Hi all,
Does anyone have any ideas of alternatives to the above.? Looking to go last 12 nights of July but unfortunately La Garangeoire is full for those dates. We have satyed at La Bretonniere previously and although an excellent site would like somewhere with a little more going on in the evenings?
Any ideas greatly appreciated (even if we have left it a little late).

The other similar alternatives to the ones which have already been mentioned for that area are la Ferme du Latois and Le Pin Parasol. I personally would dislike all five of them all equally and go somewhere else altogether.

Thank you Macaw, I have looked at this one, it does seem much more expensive than others in the area though?

Thanks for the reply Berriow, have you stayed at all 5? Where else would you recommend?

Your choice my friend. I myself would go to an interesting part of France instead of the Vendee, but I hope you have a good holiday.

Garangoire is a fantastic place if you have kids!

However I am also aware that Pin Parasol is also just as good but I haven't been there before. Other people would vouch for it though.

Other ones we looked at in the area were Les Dunes - right next to the beach

or La Yole

Again no experience of these, but ones we did consider

Les Brunelles . Another great site for kids but also does get busy. Might be worth an enquiry though.

Stayed at Village La Guyonniere few years back. Loved the huge pitches and no night entertainment. Great as the kids were young.
Now they're older stayed at l'Ocean at Brem sur mer 2014 , Le Yole at St Jean 2016. Kids screaming at us to rebook l'Ocean for this July/August so we did last weekend. Great busy site. We've picked a pitch the furtherest possible distance away from the entertainment!! Pool complex is brilliant though. Love the fact only 5minutes walk into the town and market!

Try the Dordogne or Ardeche, more scenic and some great sites there.

Le Soleil Plage is great, on the river
L'Ardechois is great in the Ardeche

We stayed at Pin Parasol last 2 years, it's a lovely site, but very busy and the pool complex, in my opinion, just isn't big enough for the size of the site.

Hi
I have done

Pin Parasol
La Ferme de Latois
Guyonniere

and.....

La ferme Latois would never return again, good size pitches, boring site, pool nothing special, bar just a bar and seating outside.

Guyonniere - more happening here a really good pool complex, nice indoor bar with benches outside, some evening bits going on.

Pin Parasol - large site and depending where you get sited will depend how much you get involved in, again a good pool can walk down to the Lac du Januay but a steep walk back up, quite a bit a childrens entertainment.

what about this?

set in the grounds of a chateux like la grarangoir

http://www.yellohvillage.co.uk/camping/chateau_de_la_foret

i think it has been mentioned above.

i am going to the more coastal La Litoral in Les Sables d'orlone.

these are Yello! Village sites. we stayed 2 nights in a Yello! village site last summer and we were so impressed with the facilities and the presentation that we have booked 13 nights in Yelloh! sites and 1 in a Eurocamp site.

cant speak for chateau de la foret

but the Les Mouettes and the La Litoral have facilities in the style of Centreparks. La Litoral has more in door pools than Les Mouettes which is mostly out door.

So we have tried most of the places mentioned, we want to be close ish to a beach, they would have worked well. They are booked up already, shows they are good I suppose.
We kind of want something going on at night. It's turning into a lengthy search of checking reviews all over. We are today looking at la yole and les amieux. Anyone able to compare the two?
Thanks
