Hi all, looking to book a campsite in the Dordogne, must have water slides for our little swimmer, a lake/riverside beach and walking distance to the nearest town/village. Any recommendations

Any two of those three items on your wish list is easy, but all three together has got me stumped. Maybe someone will know. Sorry.

Someone is going to recommend it. Been there and it lives up to the reviews.

Le Capeyrou doesn't (or didn't) have waterslides and Berriow is right in that getting all those things together isn't easy. There are lakeside sites but mostly near to fishing lakes rather than swimmming lakes - and there are riverside sites with slides but not within walking distance of a town.

What about Moulin de la Picque which is walking distance into Belves, has waterslides and a good pool, good reviews, and a stream rather than a river - and a fishing pond rather than a lakeside beach.

Or Moulin de Paulhiac which again has slides, small river, and is a (longish) walking distance to the pretty village of Daglan or a shorter distance to the village of St Cybranet.

Years ago we stayed at Le Ceou, again near St Cybranet, which again has a little stream (not the river shown on the website) but does have waterslides and walking distance to bar and restaurants.

Or if you could manage without one of those requirements, then it might be easier to recommend a site.

Yes, I'm with the others. The popular bit of the Dordogne, i.e. near the river, I can't think of a site with all three. To be honest, the bigger sites have a little shop for ice creams and so on. Nearest big town is Sarlat and I wouldn't want to be within walking distance as it can be very busy, but it's near enough for a supermarket run or market visit. Id go for the site you like, and use your car to go to get the shopping, or on days out.
We likes Camping Bel Ombrage, at St Cybranet, when ours were little. Big pool (that's been extended since we were there, as we drove past it last summer) little stream to play in, and walking distance across the fields to the nearest village with a little shop, bar, restaurant.
Otherwise Le Capeyrou is on the main Dordogne river, and in a nice village with more shops and restaurants.
Soleil Plage is a bit more out of any village, but a much bigger site with a great pool complex, stuff going on on-site and restaurants, but you'd need to drive to a village/town.

Have you looked at Le Port de Limeuil?
Haven't stayed there yet, it's on the list, but it does have a river beach and is walking distance to Limeuil which is a small village, with a night market that's reported to be very popular. You can check out the reviews here http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6209
