After deliberating and some help from here which helped us narrow down to the area we wanted (thanks) we've booked.
We chose this campsite, which has a bit more going on than we would like, but with 4 children we need to cater for them too. Its an area we can't wait to explore, and the entertainment that is offer we can choose to take or leave. We've requested a pitch away from the entertainment which has been confirmed!
Can't wait now, I need to start a countdown!!!

We stayed near Royan last year, and visited Bordeaux so we're hoping to explore that beautiful city a lot more too!

Have visited this area many times the lakes are lovely and very safe for swimming really enjoy the beach at Mimizan good bodyboarding. There are 2 tree surfing places nearby one in Mimizan and one in Biscarosse. The dune du pyla is well worth a visit and you can take a trip around arcachon bay. Although you may find it hard to tear your children away from the campsite we found ours made lots of friends and we only saw them for meals some days! If you like cycling take bikes as there are lots of cycle paths through the woods. Enjoy your holiday.

Hi,
We stayed there years ago and it was great.
It gets super-duper hot down (So ask for a shaded pitch asa) there, but we spent a lot of time at the lake with picnics under the pine trees as it stayed cooler there.
They had some lovely night markets near there when we went and some nice family entertainment throughout the day and especially in the evening.
Have lots of fun.
By the way are you going there via Spain or are you driving down from England?

Thanks for the advice Sueze! We've booked an 08.15am ferry from Plymouth to Caen and will drive down with a stopover on the way!
