Just wondering if anyone can recommend a quiet campsite near Plzeň or Cheb. Not bothered about pools or entertainment but clean toilets and showers are a must!

We have - did a few weeks in a campervan. We travelled around a bit and used a mix between a couple of small family run sites in large back gardens and a few larger privately owned sites with pools etc.
We found the standard of facilities very good, prices average around £9 per night with electric, showers and wifi included.
We were there mid summer - it was much hotter than we thought it would be - mid 30's for over a week. We didn't find it too crowded or busy - however we did avoid Prague.
Would go back again and see more if and when the chance arises again.
We have stayed at a site near Prague, Oase Praha, which was very good, and also at Eurocamp Bojkovice at Uhersky Brod, which was OK but a bit basic. If you look in the review section there is a total of only 9 people who have posted reviews. Although it's a very pleasant country, I suspect the majority of campers go either to visit Prague, or - like us - are stopping en route to Greece.

I have camped in CZ a few times - and will be going back again next month. I have camped near Pilzen but forget the name of the site - although the facilities were a bit run down. Also camped in Cesky Krumlov which is a wonderful old city in south Czech. We regularly camp at Kutna Hora too, which is east of Prague. A cracking little town, and if anyone watched "The Long Way Round" with Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman, its the place with the Church of Bones - https://sedlecossuary.com/. When in Kutna Hora we always camp here - http://www.santabarbara.cz/which is a lovely site within walking distance of the town.
