Some advice please.
Just interested, when we travel to the west coast of France we like to take our time and take an overnight stop at Pontchateau, Chateau de Deffay, so we cross country from Roscoff and join the N165 near Brest/Quimper, once on N165 it's about 117 miles to Deffay. Some of our friends say we should go by Rennes and that it is a nice drive but for us we just want to get from A to B quickly. So which route would you take, we will be towing an Affinity 530 and can drive at the limit of 90kph.

We use the first of Via Michelin's three options - the direct route over the top of Brittany on the D769 - a big wide road and completely free of traffic. Going via Rennes is 50 miles further and much busier.

Not that Rennes should be avoided, but the west coast route every time for us. We have done the Rennes route, but If I were you I would stick with what you know..........It is nicer! 😀👍🇫🇷

Hi
The road Roscoff Morlaix Quimper is scenic throught the "Monts d'Arrée", the breton Dartmoor or Botmin Hills. From Pleyben, it's 2X2 lanes, free, and you avoid Rennes or St Brieux, where traffic is sometimes slow.
