Trinite sur Mer is nearby, yachting port always something going on. Loads of places to visit down the Quiberon Peninsula. Men Du Beach is brilliant with its own desert island you can walk out to as the tide is going out. Great for kids dinghies also. Locmariaquer is a great day out at the Golfe deMorbihan entrance.
We have stayed at Camping Les Druids the last few times we've been. Nice family site within walking distance of the beach.
P.S There is a land train which runs to Trinite from Carnac seafront. One of our favourite resorts - providing the weather is ok.
------------- Mother Nature always wins in the end.
Vannes is one of their most attractive historic towns - about 20 miles from Carnac. We usually go on market days - Wednesdays or Saturdays, strictly mornings only. As well as the street markets it's worth exploring the two market halls - one for meat and veg., the other for seafood. Some mouth watering produce on display.
lovely part of the world, lots of lovely towns to have lunch in, great beaches and fab food.
Vannes, Carnac plage, Trinite Sur Mer, Penestin are all lovely. Lots to do in around the area

Two fantastic places to visit are Auray - Two parts to the town, both very pretty with the older historical part being on top of the hill and the port part being on the river below.
A little further away you have the stunning town of Pontivy - Wonderful town with Chateau des Rohan in the centre. Plenty of stunning buildings an history.
