As well is two words!

La Suze sur Sarthe is pretty - both the campsite and the adjacent Aire- and La Flèche has an excellent site just over the river from the town though both a bit off the direct route. But Pont Romain is close to the Le Mans by pass, and Vieux Moulin is about to re open with British owners.
. In fact any of the sites suggested so far, and probably all the others down that way, will do admirably for an overnight stop. Are there any which won't?
Hi
We have stopped at Chateau de Chantelope, it's the grounds of an old country house and about 15k from the Le Mans Race circuit. It's a lovely location very quiet with some eccentric owners.
Have stopped at most of the towns listed - my views are...
Beaumont sur sarthe for convenience and spotless facilities - no need to book.
La fleche is a lovely town and there is a swimming lake complex nearby (opposite Leclerc) if weather is good.
I have also stayed at La Suze (on aire) but last time there the local youths were drinking and racing scooters around so moved on to La Flèche.

The site at Neuville sur Sarthe just north of Le Mans will be re-opening in June.
It has been closed for quite a few years - new owners and full refurb underway,
BUT we use beaumont as above.
Prices seem quite a bit over what I would expect to pay in June or September. Like you, would probably use Beaumont, or La Fleche
Would recommend La Flèche,10mins walk into town, clean facilities, swimming pool, free wifi.Claire the guardian speaks excellent English, good market on Friday.

I'm now back from my visit to St Julien Des Lands, and would like to say a BIG Thank You for the Sees recommendation - it was an excellent overnighter ..... if Sees was in the UK, it would be "mobbed" with tourists ..... I highly recommend the site and town !!!!
Hi All,
Endorse all that has been said about la Fleche, have stayed there quite a few times,in fact we are going there next week for 13 days;anyone know what the weather is like there?

If you type Weather Forecast La Fleche it will tell you.
We stayed at the municiple at la fleche last week.
According to via Michelin the detour off the toll road into la fleche saves £20 in tolls so pays for the overnight stop.😀👍
