I am going to a site for long term stay in Spain where you pay for electricity at €0.42 perkwh and just €14 per night. The cheapest way to stay is to use gas particularly for fridge and heating. I am lookin at purchasing refill connectors so that refilling a 6kg bottle at petrol station would only cost 11 ltrs x55c ie about £5 each time. Has anyone experience of doing this. It would also be much cheaper back in UK again only about £5 instead of £22 for bottle exchange.

I know people do it but the swappable cylinder sold in the UK are not designed to be user refilled. One reason being is that they should not be filled to more than 80% of capacity and exchange cylinders don't have the necessary float/failsafe in to prevent this. Why not just buy a Spanish cylinder when you get there and just exchange that as required. I don't know if it is still the same but gas cylinder is Spain used to be much cheaper than here.

Buy a refillable bottle. Look on Gaslow website.

Davids advice is spot on, buy a Spanish bottle, on some sites they will arrange delivery to your pitch. 42 cents is a bit expensive, a cheap solar panel might help out there. We ended up with a bill for a 113 euros for 41 nights charged at 40 cents a klw, but we was not economising, cooked with electricity, fridge and freezer on.

I use these cylinders in the UK and they supply adaptors for continental use. Not sure about Spain though.

When refilling a 6kg bottle it is not a problem to just put in 11 ltrs which is 80%
To buy a Spanish bottle 11kg costs about €32 plus €12 for a regulator. I dont want to be carrying one of these bottles back to UK for possible use next year and am looking for a cheaper way
