I have booked channel tunnel for my first trip to Europe in my motorhome for September. I am unsure on the gas bottle and gauge situation. I have 2 cylinders, one a fixed LPG refillable bottle with a gauge and also a spare 6kg propane bottle. It states in tunnel rules and regs that's bottles must have a gauge. Is a magnetic gauge(no matter how naff they are!!) acceptable or do I need a fitted gauge on the propane?

never heard of having to have a gauge fitted on the cylinder.
Most gas bottles do not have gauges unless you use calor lite or gaslow refillable bottles that do have gauges.

I would move this post to the overseas section, i am sure someone there would know.

I don't think the removable 6kg needs a gauge (from the Eurotunnel website).

It's only fixed gas containers(Tanks, etc) that require a gauge.

I'd check on the LPG situation. To quote from their website:

'LPG powered vehicles (or equivalent flammable gas)
LPG is the abbreviation of "Liquefied Petroleum Gas".

Vehicles powered by LPG or equivalent flammable gas as well as dual powered vehicles (vehicles fitted with an LPG or equivalent flammable gas tank as an alternative fuel) cannot be accepted for transport by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, even if:

the LPG or equivalent flammable gas tank is empty
the LPG or equivalent flammable gas mode of the vehicle is not selected.

In case of non compliance with these conditions, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle reserves the right to cancel your journey.'

Never check for gauge just that gas is turned off been going back and forwards with a Caravan for 14 years on Eurotunnel.
