Looks like a good deal to me... go direct with Saneftollinguk, and there'd also be a 10€ application fee, according to This page...


Other than the toll charges, I paid just the initial 3€ postage of the tag, and the 1.60€ for the single month I use it.
Yes, it goes on my credit card (2 months grace before it gets paid!) and is subject to exchange rates, but I can hardly blame ATMB for that!

As we go in the quieter month (on the motorways) of September, no way would it be worth (to us) all those add-on's that sanefuk seem to have, as we hardly ever witness excessive queues anyway!

Thanks Stuart for highlighting that, it's not really about the money, but more about the principle in my mind.

It just oinks me that Brits are always the easy target, and direct debit only to boot.

I don't blame anyone for getting the saneftollinguk Tag, if they are happy with it, but maybe APRR or ATMB should open a uk office to show how it should be done.

We have the sanef.

We pay 3.69 euros annual fee and 6 euro Monthly Active Service Fee for the month it's in use. This year for instance that worked out to be £3.13 annual fee and will be just over £5 active service (based on current exchange rates)

Initial set up was 27euro (£23). This includes the 20euro refundable security deposit. This was the cost in 2014 with a Eurotunnel offer.

Payment is the following month, so if you use in Aug, payment is taken at the very end of Sept. This helps as we paid tolls using following months salaries rather than it coming out of our spending money

I'm sure there are cheaper "french" tags, but for us the costs were marginal in comparison, and when all said and done it did its main job.. get us through the tolls without queuing or needing cash.

It was those set up costs that just didn't seem worth it to us (as we don't/haven't hit massive queues anyway, in September).
Has anyone returned a tag and had experience of getting their deposit back?
I can't imagine that going too smoothly, although I appreciate the sanefuk users presumably only send back withing the UK, and can chase up any missing deposits in English?

As it stands, with no outstanding deposit, I don't need to return my ATMB tag.

Might be more hassle for me if and when the battery runs out, but I'll cross that pont when we get to it!

Yep Mucker, when I found out that my Bip & Go Tag had died back in 2014, during our holiday, it was just a case of a phone call to Bip & Go when we got back.

Not only did they replace my 5 year old Tag foc, they updated it to the new style petite Tag, which I think is now std issue for all Tag users.

Although the window mount is a different non compatible style to the older Tag mounts.

Which is a bit of a jip, as my APRR Tag, obtained whilst in France that year, is of the older Tag design.

We tried to get the ATMB and gave up after many many attemps. We then went for the Sanef, no problems and all worked well in setting everything up.

1st time using it and breath held, but straight through and all was good. Might cost a few quid more but for the ease of everything thats fine.
