There's a stretch of the remote Cote Sauvage beach north of La Palmyre where clothed and unclothed people intermingle. Our boys were 14 and 16 when they came face to face with their Headmaster there walking along the shoreline. - he was stark naked but they weren't. "Why, hello sir, good afternoon". And they told all their mates about it when they went back to school.

Why would their headmaster care? Most of us naturists make no secret of it at all. It's a hobby like any other. I find it laughable that anybody might be suprised to find any of their teachers/workmates/friends are naturists. If anybody regards a naturist as different from anybody else then their problem lies with themselves not the naturist.

The campsite from 30 years ago I mentioned was the Ran du Chabrier. Google it and make your own minds up. We have nothing against naturism or swinging, but swinging just isn't our thing. We've been propositioned in the UK too.

If you check out the Ran du Chabrier website (I suggest the faint of heart, or the easily offended don't do it) you would get a good idea of what you were letting yourself in for. I imagine that thirty years ago, pre-internet, it was more difficult to know in advance what a site was 'all about'. These days a little bit of 'googling' will stop people ending up at sites where they aren't comfortable.
And just to clarify where it is, to stop others making a mistake, the Ran du Chabrier site is one of several sites along the Ceze river, in the Department of the Gard, (30) not the Lot (46). The other Ceze sites include La Genese, and Domaine de la Sabliere - which are not 'libertine' - just normal naturist sites. I'm not sure about the other site Chateau du Feyrerolles, which is next to Ran du Chabrier, and I can't get on to their website.

Isn't it unfortunate that with such a large amount of normal family naturist sites in France that are just like textile sites in the area except you don't need to wear pants the sites that do get mentioned have nothing to do with normal naturism at all. Look at the campsite guide on UKCS. There are plenty of reviews of normal naturist sites.

The FFN website lists them as well.
There are some very good naturist sites in and around the Dordogne, with very good reputations and most deffinately not for swingers.

Me and my son would love to do the naturist thing. I'm always far too hot, so the idea of no clothes is awesome. H just doesn't like to wear clothes full stop.
Daughter and hubby are horrified by the idea, so that's that then.

Way to do it Rachel. Go to somewhere like Montalivet & sit on the beach at the sign where the naturist beach starts. That's what half & half families do. There is always some overspill clothed & unclothed at that point.
