Do they all accept caravans? We've located a few on our route around Nantes but they are described as 'motor home stopover'. Does this exclude caravans or is motor home a generic term for all types?

We don't use these as we need facilities, but most of the aires we see wouldn't be suitable for caravans, often the parking spaces are side by side so too short.
Don't get mixed up with types of 'Aire'. There are Aires de service camping car where caravans are generally not allowed, but then there are fully serviced Aires on the autoroute with a fuel station, restaurant, shop, etc., and then there are picnic aires both on the autoroute and on many major roads. Caravans are allowed to stop at everything but an Aire de camping car.
