Hi folks, looking for an overnight stop on way to tunnel from Ardeche. Stopped at Troyes on way down and don't really want to stay there on way back. Any ideas or suggestions please?
Try Campsite search on here - it lists a site at Arcis sur Aube to the north of Troyes, and one at Chatillon sur Seine to the south. If you have a printed site guide book it will no doubt list others. Safe journey home.
lac d'orient is lovely and easy to get to. however this year something seemed off with the bar/restaurant. they werent doing food, have very little choice of drinks & their draught beers were poison. The staff were clueless & couldn't have been happier about it.
Reception staff were lovely as always however
------------- Doing whatever the rice krispies tell me to.
Not been to lac d'orient for a few years but I agree with you about Troyes, I didnt like it at all.
So its another note for Lac D'orient but beware if you are going to be there on a sunday you will need a credit or debit card for fuel (prepary cards wont do) because its a very long drive to a manned petrol station and all local ones are pay at pump only.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We ended up staying in Montbard at their municipal. Slight detour to visit Alysse (history nerds are us). Its a lovely site. Large pitches which have small hedging so very private. Access to leisure centre and altogether lovely site. Would highly recommend.
Will review this weekend. Had mad time with having to relocate our caravan in storage (last weekend) and been on a residential with my class this week so knackered!!
