are there any restrictions any more in driving, as in the past was aware of a vignette ?? although never drove there before only from geneva airport to annecy in a hire car

You only need a vignette if you are driving on their motorways otherwise just the same as any other continental roads.
I don't know if it is still true but the vignettes used to be cheaper if you bought them before you went from the Swiss tourist office.
Don't forget you need two : one for the car and one for the caravan.

They're red hot on speeding - 80kph on all rural roads apart from motorways which if I remember rightly are 120kph. The fines are based on your income so could be heftier than you might think. I've heard they do the average time thing through tunnels so beware.

Turn your engine off the traffic lights and dont leave your engine running when youre not moving, they really hate it, its a big cultural no-no.
I loved the views and the mountains but the prices and the people put me off going back. £4.50 for a loaf of bread in the campsite shop! Good job we only stayed one night.

10 years ago the exchange rate was almost 2.5 francs to the £, by the time we went in 2010 it was down to 1.5 francs, and now it's around 1.25. Not cheap in the first place, it's no surprise that it now feels like a very expensive country to visit !
Our first trip to Switzerland this year (staying around Interlaken) and on entering the country at Basel, there was a nice (official) man standing at the border post who sold us the required vignette. I was going to stop at a petrol station to buy one but this made it so much easier and he even stuck on the windscreen for us!
Driving was generally easy though we hit the rush hour traffic as we arrived in the country around 5pm. I did enjoy driving the winding roads like the Susten Pass even if the weather was not the best for the views.
Last summer I took Caravan and family to France, crossed over to Switzerland nr. Geneva, stayed 12 nights at Lake Brienz. Absolutely fantastic, plenty to do, lovely winding roads into the mountains, walks with fantastic views. Really lovely. Exchange rate makes it more expensive than France. Would advise book just ONE site for a longer stay and really explore the one area, to get the feel of it. Had pitch by the lake, fantastic views and sunsets. Lake Brienz and surrounding mountains, cog railrays etc., all Most memorable.
