I am meantime in France and Tesco won't let me look at Clubcard from abroad!
Considering a crossing with car only from either Newcastle or Hull next year. I've been reading old posts on this forum on using vouchers and some say it's not worth it.
Can anyone with recent experience please advise? My preferred point of arrival is Zeebrugge but anything considered.
Been using the tunnel the past few years but open to a change if there are advantages. We travel from north-east Scotland.

We're not Tesco shoppers, but I've been reading the reviews - and there are a lot of negative ones. Comments range from - takes too long, prices more than on-line prices, phones never answered.......! However, a lot of the comments seem to be about the Dover/Dunkirk routes.
If you shop in Tesco anyway then it will always be worth it, even if you only get a partially reduction by using vouchers. We have moved around a bit over the last decade and have gone from doing all our shopping and fuel purchases at Tesco, to neither and now back to fuel purchases. We travel via tunnel because of dogs and believe me, it really hurts to pay full whack!

Thanks for replies. I will check it out when we get home.
It seems to be a good deal for those towing and travelling Hull to Zeebrugge at weekends when caravans go free, but we store in France near Angers so are travelling solo from Scotland.
Just considering long crossing options, but I'd read old negative comments on using Tesco Vouchers on Hull / Zeebrugge crossing. I was hoping for any recent experience.
The tunnel has been a cheap and convenient option for us, but of course it involves a 600+ mile drive for us just to get to Calais and we take an overnight stop in each direction.
Hull would be easier to get to and would save us road fuel and accommodation.
I will do the sums when we get home.
I think that Tesco vouchers are only redeemable on the Dover to Calais routes and only if you are not towing anything..Zeebrugge and Rotterdam are excluded.

Coming from Northq Scotland we find dfds Newcastle/Amsterdam route the easiest & quickest.
We booked 2 weeks ago, used up all our Tesco vouchers, and paid very little. If your dates are flexible just search for the best price online, but then using vouchers will add on a little. If booking a return, find the best price online and book it separately, i.e. book 2 singles.
Did worry I was going to pay more in phone calls to dfds to work out this lot! Apparently, if the price quoted online ends with xx pence, then it's been automatically discounted (even though you have not entered a discount code) which means you can't use your tesco voucher discount, plus this 'invisible' discount they have applied, meaning you'll pay slightly more than what's quoted online.
Then just search out a best price single - & if low season it'll have an 'automatic' discount applied.
Thanks for that Sneachd. I will have homework to do when I get home.
Not a huge difference in road miles for us as it's a long way from Amsterdam to Angers where we store, but will consider all the options, swings and roundabouts.
