Not sure if this is too far north for you, but we can recommend Camping am Ahrtor at Arhweiler (about 40 miles north of Koblenz). It is a small site so you would definitely need to book, but access is easy - a straightforward 5 minute drive from J30 of the A61. It is an excellent stopover site and the walled town centre with shops, restaurants etc is an easy 5 minute stroll from the site. We discovered it last year and have reviewed it on here.
