Thinking about a road trip to the south of France next year for the French F1 GP and camping near-ish, maybe no more than 45 minutes drive away. Anyone been around that area and can recommend a campsite please?

What sort of site, what sort of area? Full facilities with bar/restaurant/pool, etc., or five tents in an orchard?
There is a full facilities site Camping Parc Mogador in Sanary sur Mer which takes the ACSI card until the 7th July - and is just 25 minutes from Circuit Paul Ricard. It gets reasonably good reviews on here and on the ACSI Card website. It will cost 19 euros per night with the ACSI Card, which is a heck of a lot less than sites nearer to the site.
Or there is a more 'natural' site at Garlaban which is about the same distance away but will cost you more which isn't reviewed on here but on the Eurocampings (not Eurocamp) website it scores 7.7 out of 10.
My youngest son works for one of the Grand Prix teams and when he has to visit the Paul Ricard circuit he always stays at a hotel in Sanary sur Mer so that seems to be a good starting point.

I can definitely recommend Camping Parc Mogador In Sanary sur Mer. We spent a week there a couple of years ago. Very good facilities and only a 20 minute walk down to the lovely harbour/waterfront with lots of nice restaurants. You would need to book as soon as possible. We arrived in late May, without a reservation, and there were only 3 pitches left which all got taken that same day.
Thanks for your comments and recommendations. I tend to leave making arrangements to a few weeks before a race as I don't know what I'll be doing work-wise. Did look at a few hotels though do enjoy camping. There's an outside possibility of going to Austria the week after as there are 3 races scheduled over 3 consecutive weekends so maybe doing a bit of a road trip.
As with motor races at Le Mans the commercial agents are already on the case. CampingF1.com has a web page saying they will be setting up an on site campsite - one can register an interest but there are no clues about exact location or prices yet.

I think many campsites within driving distance will be extra busy at the time of the Grand Prix, so make arrangements accordingly.
And, as SGThomas warns in another post, if you're not a motor racing fan then avoid that area from 22nd June to 24th June (and add a couple of days either side).
So I've booked a few days at Camping Parc Mogador now.
I see camping at the track is now on offer at a cost of 200€ for Thursday through to Monday with the stipulation:
'Alcohol: The transportation and introduction of alcohol into the campsite is regulated by the State Services. The volume of alcohol allowed to access the reception areas is fixed per person to: * 2 liters of beer * or 1 liter of strong alcohol'.
Not that I'm going to drink my self senseless, 2 litres does seem rather stingey!
Have a great time! The loos at parc mogador are self-cleaning - you wave your hand over the infrared sensor and the loo seat spins around and gets rinsed and disinfected! Great idea but not if desperate or if 'room' already spinning from too much alcohol!
