The problem is, that you never know how long it will take you to get from say Chalon-Sur-Saon down to Frejus.
The usual culprit is getting past Lyon, then you are at the mercy of the route du Soliel.
I guess if we were willing to get up at silly O' clock in the morning, and not take a long break for lunch, the 350 mile journey is would be quite doable.
But being on the road for 8 hours, and then set a tent up, is not for us these days, been there got the "T" Shirt.
Doing 8 hours and then checking into a hotel, is a completely different ball of wax.
