The reality of the matter sjr66 is that using Satellite for UK Freesat in Spain is no longer an option.
That only leaves the interweb, and to be fair that is a pretty hit and miss option due to the chance's of getting a decent wi-fi (mobile) connection.
Of course there will be some campsites in Spain that offer piped UK TV to your pitch, but I bet that they are few and far between these days.
Thankfully we can still use a 1m Dish for UK Freesat down in Frejus, but it is ridiculous that we have gone from, 60cm, 80cm, to now 1m to keep up with the satellite changes over the years.
If that's not technology going backwards, I don't know what is!
I would have been happy with Sirius(Afrisat) satellite radio, the reciever was the size of a normal portable radio, with an antenna the size off a beer matt.
With Sirius you could get all the BBC Radio channels along with a bunch off UK commercial stations, I think the subscription was around £4 per month, I would have been more than happy to pay that.
Sadly the Sirius service was short lived, and ended a good ten years back or so.
We should like the Americans and Canadians have, satellite radio, in fact it even comes as standard in some cars, in the U.S.
In fact SiriusXM in the U.S. is just 5$ per month, or you can pay 30$ upfront for 6 months, or 60$ for the year.
Why Europe never continued with a satellite radio service, is a joke if not an embarrassment in this modern age.
OK satellite radio is not TV, although I always think that the picture is far better on radio than it is on TV in anycase!
Anyway help is on it's way from SpaceX with StarLink, although I am sure the cost will be more than £4 per month, but at least you will get TV as well as the interweb and phone.
Just a case of a 2 to 4 year wait, for the service to arrive.
