It's a good route, probably the busiest in France however, and it is expensive on tolls. Check out on ViaMichelin - be sure to select car and caravan in the options. If you do that it should show you three different routes. The difference in tolls is substantial - 22 euros one way, 59 using another route, and 77 euros using the route you suggested you might take. However, your suggested route is faster by about an hour and a quarter.
I would say you'll need an overnight stop - at least - using any of the options.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We've stayed there loads of times in the past - each time we went up and down the autoroute. I would go back but we now store our caravan in the south, so don't tow backwards and forwards any more. I think you'll like the site - but you need to choose your pitch with care - some are a long way from the main facilities - restaurant, bar, indoor pool, lake, but nearer to the outdoor pool which at one time needed a refurbishment - this may have been done now. There is a lakeside sandy beach which your four year old might like - mine did and spent many happy hours in 'the sea'!

great advice thankyou ! would you recommend any other sites that we can look into that are good stopping places with Kids or places to visit ? its our first time doing this
I'm sure they would love the Haribo museum in Uzes - and the Crocodile farm at Pierrelatte- You could stay somewhere near Bagnols sur Ceze and been twenty five km from each of them. Camping Les Genets d'Or is very nice - and you and your four year old could have a go at panning for gold (again something my sons used to love!). Neither are two far from your planned route south. It's an ACSI Card site at 19 euros.
