My family are hiring a motor home for the Easter hols 2018. We did this 4 years ago and apart from a couple of sat nav disasters, had a fantastic time. Driving a 7.4 meter motor home can get a bit hairy sometimes and there were a couple of sites that we had to abondon as they were not accessible.

We would like to do a variation of the same trip, see new places along the way. Hit me with your recommendations for towns and campsites. We thought Colmar in France, Lake Geneva, Chamonix, Lake Maggiore or Garda.

For the leg back we have been to the Ardeche a few times, love it but would like an alternative. Provence perhaps? Avignon?

We tend to like the smaller sites, but wouldn’t rule out good larger ones. At April time it’s too cold to swim, so a lot of the facilities are a bit redundant.
Valerie

I find Colmar to Lake Geneva to Chamonix to the Italian Lakes and then back to Provence and Avignon a rather convoluted route and would suggest you streamline that a bit.
