Camping La Viorna just outside Potes has accommodation (see link) ... Potes is an ideal centre for 'doing the Picos' ... you can hire a chauffeur driven 4x4 for a day ... they deposit you at one end of the Cares Gorge, then collect you at the other .... as well, they take you on a drive into remoter areas, with a knowledgeable guide.
Just around the corner from La Viorna is Camping La isla Picos de Europa, which is a lovely campsite ...
Both are a twenty minute drive from the cable car at Fuente De, which takes you up to a whole area of walks.
As well as these campsites ... Potes is full of apartments and hotels, which, in May, are probably pretty cheap ... and, being in the town, may well offer a wider range of interest/comfort/bars/cafes/restaurants etc.

It's a wonderful area ... we keep returning ... never been in May, though ... so be prepared for changeable weather!
