Undecided as to which day to set off from Leeds for the Eurotunnel beginning of march, Saturday or Monday are the cheapest days? any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

A Saturday would be the best out of those two days - and you then get the advantage of the 'no HGV's at the weekend' in France, so your onward journey on a Sunday will be better.
However, we go Sundays! Living north of Leeds we have the same journey as you but find the A1 and the M25 are rarely a problem on a Sunday. We have a house in southern France, so do the journey at four times in each direction, and have decided that we much prefer Sundays.
Mondays will be madness right down the A1, down the M11 and also and around the M25.
From Sheffield for the last 15 or so years we've gone down to the tunnel overnight - setting off about 1 am for a crossing at about 5:30 am - it means guaranteed no traffic on the M25!
We usually then head for the aire at Baie de Somme where I can put my head down for a couple of hours, then I'm comfortable driving down to the Loire.

Thanks val, looking at setting off on the Sunday now, we usually do the night tunnel like longcol and also doze at baie de Somme but decided its too cold in march so going to do an extra night in a warm hotel!
Thats got me thinking, just booked tunnel for 1st April, Easter monday 2.20pm.
We usually set off, from Teesside, the day before and overnight near Cambridge before heading to the tunnel next day.
This year"the next day" will be Easter Monday😬.
Think i should make our overnighter further south, Essex or Kent? Any suggestions?
Or should I stick with Cambridge area?
Both Club site either Full or have a min booking if 2 nights.
Have stayed at Leacroft CL in Essex and Scragged oak in Kent before.
We live north of Leeds and always travel down and cross on a Saturday then have the whole of Sunday have free as Val A has already said. Coming back we cross on a Saturday morning and the roads are less congested especially the A1 which we prefer.
We managed to get a Bilbao-Plymouth cancellation for mid March. Gets into plymouth at 9 on a Friday morning. Really looking forward to the drive to Clacton on sea, not!
