Once again thank you all for your suggestion!

Camping Pors Peron, and Camaret are on my definite list. Although I will bear in mind the undertow! Maybe not suitable for the kayak, whereas the Ile de Callot at Carantec sounds ideal. Saint Cast-le-Guildo as mentioned by a few appeals too.

St Jean du Doigt and the coast near Plougasnou and exploring round Carnac looks fun. Auray is a definite.

The Crozon Peninsula too!! As Berriow said earlier too much choice.

We prefer simple municipal style campsites. I am sure Camping Les Embruns is super but the website put me off. All the beautiful people, I don't think our old tent and mode of dress would measure up.

The area does look appealing so I am on the lookout for a more simple site. I am now off to the Camping Municipal website.

One thing that threw me was that a couple of simple sites only opened July and August.

I only have 5 more weeks planning. Then all depends on the weather. Yes I love Cornwall but having lived there for 12 years I know what a wet week feels like!

Thanks all.

Hi- can I add our favourite spot of Begmeil and surrounding coast. We too like a small cove like beach as opposed to the great long ones, the peninsula around Begmeil however has both, plus powdery soft white sands. we stay at Camping Kerolland (2*) but there are a variety of swishier sites there too- but it sounds like you like a basic camping experience. Claude ( yes really!) the owner of Kerolland is a typically Breton chap ( strong silent type- but welcoming too)The town is currently going through a bit of a spruce-up after some down time- but it is small-ish with a little bit of everything you need
- port
-couple of creperies
-small supermarket within walking / big L'Eclerc 5 mins drive
- tabac
-bars
-pizza places
- sentier cotier
-cycle paths
lots to recommend it for those wanting a chilled , french camping holiday.
hope this helpful. Enjoy.

Definitely like the look of that area, thank you! We love to walk the coastal paths and the coves and bays look lovely.

Can you organise some clear blue skies and warmth in Brittany mid June please?

Order all placed for you!!You can walk all the way up to La Foret Fouesnant/ Cap Coz along the inland coast and around to Mousterlin on the seaward coast. Plus there are ferry services to Corncarneau opposite and the beautiful achipeligo of Les isles des glenan. We have been going for 22years and still struggle to beat it ( our children 12 & 18 love it too!). google earth it...I often do Bon Vacances.

We have stayed all over Brittany and my favourite beach has to be at Le Pouldu.
We used to stay at Camping Quinquis which we loved and have probably returned about 8 times now!
Trinite sur mer was very nice too but Le Pouldu is a little quieter and with more rock pools etc.
