Hello Forum
Currently I am camping/ tenting at a great little campsite La Fresneda near Alcaniz- only 24 pitches and full up just now mostly with Dutch. Indeed the site is run by a Dutch couple. Excellent pitches with EHU and fresh water. Toilet block immaculate and plenty of hot water. Great little bar. Fresh bread delivered 6 days a week. Tapas delivered and meals from a local restaurant. No pets allowed. 19.50 Euros a night - free electricity, hot showers- good washing up facilities. Stay 7 nights discounted to 18 Euros per night. You will need to book if you want to stay. Open April to end of September
Anyway - I am looking for recommendations for camping winter months in Spain- dog friendly. Probably means to be well south really.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Get hold of the ACSI book there's loads although I can't say I've noticed a great deal of tents on the sites I've been on. It also depends on what else you want, beach, river, town, bar, cafè etc.
Not so many ACSI sites open during the winter, most open in March. We go to the CCC winter rallies which are often cheaper. Contrary to popular belief, you’re not with a load of old fogies and don’t have to join in any of the events or entertainment. But you do have the local knowledge and experience of the stewards and other campers which can be very useful.
Whatamess, I don't agree with your post. In southern Spain which is where the OP was asking about most ACSI sites are open, and a lot more besides. I don't agree that the winter rallies are cheaper either, I visited friends at La Manga, I was paying 11 euros a night for my long stay site just down the coast, I think they said they had paid £14 a night. It was the same at both Almafra and Vilanova a couple of years ago. I agree they are not all full of old fogies and local knowledge is in bundles, but I find that the case on most sites in southern Spain over winter

What determines an "Old Fogie" - if it's age then I fit the bill - I am 71. I enjoy the company of any age- that's one of the good thing about camping.
Calpemar, Calpe accepts tents and is in a fantastic location. Great site very clean, always a good mix of Nationalties. Just reached 60 so we certainly don't class ourselves as old foggies plus you are only as old as you feel.
