Hi, anyone been to some of the campsites near the beach in the Acquitane area? Le Tedey has some good reviews and am quite liking the look of Camping Huttopia Lac de Carcans or Landes Sud - has anyobe been to both for comparison? Or any others?
We’re going with three teenagers so looking for lots for them to do sports wise. Loving the sound of the beaches being near to lakes and pine forest. Although looking for activities for kids we dont need/want all singing/dancing organised activities or evening entertainment, we prefer the more chilled out campsites.
Thanks
Tracey

Lots around the Biscarosse, Mimizan area we have been to La Rive which is a big site with lots of activities and facilities, but there are smaller sites in the area Great Lakes and beaches and lots of places to cycle.
Can't complement Hourtin Plage Cote D'Argent enough.Have reviewed on here and another review site. Plenty of nice places around and about to visit and the beach and village are lovely for an evening.

It may be too late, but just came accross this.
We went to the Huttopia Lac de Carcan site last year with 14 and 12 year olds. The site was awesome and they loved the freedom that it gave them. The leisure facilities were well spread so they could go off in different directions for different activities. The lake was so close and really gorgeous.
Campsites mentioned are very expensive at peak time. If you want cheaper look at the Muni at Le Pin Sec about 3miles north of Hourtins Plage. Site is walking distance from beach & is full of younger surfy types from all over Europe.
