There are all sorts of changes which may affect us in the UK after 'Brexit' - several mentions of having to live in an EU country. I suggest anyone not speaking German should use google translate and read it all through properly - then we can come back on here and discuss how it appears that it will affect us.
We could probably just change our address to our French one, pay with our French bank account, and continue our membership.
WE've just received our own letter from ADAC. Accompanying the document linked to above is a letter which reads:
Since october 2017 we are no longer shipping a motoworld abroad. For this reason, we would like to thank you today with this letter on the adjustments of the order of performance and conditions. In the appendix you will find an overview of the changes on 01/08/2018 in short form All of them can be viewed on the internet at www.adac.de/leistung2018.
Would you like to receive all club-related information digitally? Sign up now! We offer our members abroad the electronic edition of the ADAC motorwelt. Simply look under www.adac.de/epaper
When you register for the electronic edition, you will receive the official ADAC newsletter with all information relevant to the association, in particular your membership. In addition, they claim to protect the environment.
If you have any questions, we are happy to meet you
It seems pretty clear to me after reading the changes to their terms and conditions that ADAC membership for UK members will terminate if the UK leaves the EU unless, at the same time, the UK rejoins EFTA to which the UK once belonged before EU membership.
According to my contact nothing is to change for existing UK members. UK residents who are currently members can continue to be members but we will only be able to receive electronic newsletters.
