Afternoon all,
I applied for a crit air sticker for my Father's 64 plate disco and they've sent him a grey 5 sticker. We checked online and he should have been sent a yellow 2 sticker. My 64 plate 4x4 is also a yellow 2 sticker which arrived in the post no problems

Does anyone know who we can contact to get this corrected please.

Can I ask how to find out which crit air sticker I would need? Only just heard about this and we are driving in France at the end of August. Is there any information on what areas of France this sticker is needed for? We will be driving fom Roscoff down to the vendee and then around that area for a couple of weeks.

Don't worry too much about it. We drove 2000 miles around France in June - a big loop from Roscoff to the south and back again. We had no sticker at all and nor had many other cars on the campsites. I don't think you will be stopped or arrested.

Neither do I... but at some stage, it'll happen. Maybe not this year, maybe not next! Someone at some stage will be on here moaning they have been "victimised" and fined!

For the price of a tarte au citron and a café noisette, it makes sense to just get one... and let that first "victim" be someone else!

We have just returned from 3 weeks in France, the only sticker we saw was in the camper behind us at Dover when a lady from Wales asked us where on the windscreen she should stick hers! We did try to play 'spot the sticker' but gave up after a week as we didn't see any. The Belgian people next to us on a site had never heard of it and neither had most of the Brits we spoke to. We look forward to the next 'must have' in the future.

We've seen plenty of headlights with no means of deflection. Warning boards with the diagonal stripes going the wrong way.
UK reg plates with no EU marker or GB sticker.
I've regularly cruised at 2.3kph above the speed limit, and on one occasion, I even passed a middle lane hogger whilst remaining in the right hand lane!!
Then there was the small matter of mademoiselle nudging my (tow-bar-mounted) bike carrier in heavy traffic. After a brief check, detecting no damage to either vehicle, I smiled, gave her a thumbs up, and attempted a gallic shrug, then drove off, never once considering reporting the "collision" to the police.

I doubt any of them have ever been stopped, fined or arrested... but that doesn't make it legal!

The Crit'Air badge is only required in limited areas, so most people won't need one, anyway. Only a few ciites have permement low emmision zones. (called ZCR - Paris, Grenoble, Lille, maybe a couple of others.)

There are larger areas hwrr temporary restrictions can be introduced if pollution levels get to high. Not sure how often , or even if this has happened

So yes, for most holidaymakers, it's irrelevant at the moment. But undoubtably this will spread, and we will see more categories excluded from certain areas in the future.

We drove into Paris in June and guess what, all the cars had stickers.

Holidays tend to be in rural/coastal areas which are a long way outside the crit'air zones. It therefore hardly surprising that there is not the need to have stickers for the locals.

It took about 5 minutes to complete the form and take a photo of my V5 and a payment of about £4.50. It’s done and dusted and no longer something I have to think about. I’ll probably never use it but if I need it it’s there.

Get the free Green Zones app. It'll give you details of all thirty green zones and a searchable map that shows you whether you're in one if you have location switched on.
When we were in the Ardèche this year, the locals didn't necessarily have the sticker as they're miles from a zone, but the people who'd come down from the Netherlands, Belgium and what is now called Hauts de France (59, 62 & 80 plates) mostly did. We later went to Grenoble, where about 4 out of 5 cars had the sticker. We counted.

We still have ours, it has several tax discs, several Saint Felicien cheese labels and now a blue badge with a yellow star. We'd be lost without it.
