Hi folks it’s a long time since I’ve been on the forums here! For an overnight crossing from Portsmouth to Caen are you allowed on a bit earlier before sailing? I had it in my mind that you could get on board, get to the cabin if booked, and be pulling out of Portsmouth whilst starting on my steak et frites!

That ship arrives in Portsmouth at 9.15 pm. - they allow half an hour to unload by 9.45 pm. and if the cleaners have finished they will start to re load at 10pm.for the 10.45pm. departure back to Caen. With a caravan you may not be on board until 10.30pm. Sorry.

I do Portsmouth - St Malo overnight and have always managed a view of Portsmouth while I'm having a beer as the ferry departs.
I've done Portsmouth - Caen in the past and I've normally eaten beforehand as it's a late departure, but still time for a drink before you hit your pit for the night.
