Anyone else had problems at unmanned Intermarche petrol stations with the Halifax card?
Mine has been refused twice lately, it's been fine everywhere else

We have found that just occasionally, if we've had two biggish spends in the same day, and then use the card to buy fuel, that it has been refused. Fortunately we carry several different cards which we can use instead.

That's the only time its been an issue for us too
Picking up the 'essential' supplies and paying the site for two weeks then trying to fill up just before the ferry

Intermarche are mostly the worst French supermkt. Their prices are generally the highest & their fuel forecourts are often run down & dirty. It could well have been a fault with the machine rather than the user’s card. Avoid. I always do. Especially the small ones.

I think quite a few of the Intermarche supermarkets have quite old equipment, I think many of them might be franchises. Never had a problem with the larger supermarkets but have had a few refused at smaller ones, often at lunch time.
Used our Halifax Clarity CC, to fuel up at Card Only pump at Carrefour near Armbouts Cappel Dunkerque.
Not happy at €1.44 per lt, but it is what it is.
Hammered it down to Chalon Sur Saone, 402 miles, and the whole tank full has gone, 50lt, need to do the math, but MPG does suffer when doing 81mph with RoofBox and half ton trailer.
Just got back from 4 weeks towing to the South of France and back. Evrery fill up was with the Clarity card and never a problem I'm pleased to say. A year or two back I used the Post Office money card and that was hardly ever accepted.
As a side note, with regular payoffs (I pay it off every few days online) of the Clarity my total interest charge for the period was £1.03. Amazing considering it was used for all cash and every other spend for 4 weeks. :-)
We have a clarity card each. We use one for cash and pay it as soon as it appears on our statement and we only pay a few pence. The other we use for everything else and pay off monthly. It’s worked well for us the last few years.
