We're at a fantastic municipal on the river Cele in the Lot ... pitched right beside the river ... beautiful scenery with limestone cliffs and dense wooded hillsides ... lovely small waterfall 50 meters away, gurgles throughout the day, and allows river bathing ... perfect launching fo the kayak ... flat road all the way beside the river for miles in either direction: great for bikes .... kayak hire on site if you need it.
Nice little restaurant/bar on site ... very friendly management couple ... not overcrowded ... another good value restaurant/bar/boulangerie ... 100 meteres in the small village.
Loads of pretty villages and places to visit ...
Under 15 euros a night for caravan/2 people/electricity ....
Where in the UK could you get that?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

...We are in France in September, if we have to pay more than 1€ for a baguette, or I suffer from constipation.......I’m blaming BREXT! 😡
We're in France in September too... you could be unlucky enough to bump into us on your travels, so there's another reason for potential constipation right there!
Indeed Mucker........But you could be the cure! 😀👍💩💩
I've read that 5 times now, Mike... and I still can't work out if that's a compliment or not!!
In 2008 it was nearly on par with the £, I guess that must have been Brexit too!
In 2008 it was the credit crunch, a recession started by US sub prime mortgages. It's always closer to the € when the UK is struggling and higher when we're doing well. The devalued £ has caused quite a few hostile buyouts of formerly British companies, as it makes the shares seem cheaper to investors in places like China.

Meant to ask Kelper if he is at Saint Sulpice, Marcialhac or Bagnac? We may be there a week tomorrow after spending time with our family near Collonges La Rouge.
Well we finally made it and moved to France last week - just up the hill from Cenac in the Dordogne - and it ain't half hot and forecast to be up to 40c this weekend. So glad the swimming pool is now up and running.
Diesel 1.43 euro per litre at LeClerc in Sarlat. Have found food prices similar so far - although the quality is usually better here - the local Carrefour has an excellent butchers counter with some of the best black pudding I've ever tasted - high praise from a Yorkshireman.
Got a 10 litre box of a very quaffable Bergerac Rose for 21 euro in the local wine shop - the also do red and white at the same price.
Will stock up with the likes of washing powder when we pop back to England in October. Most outrageous prices I've seen is weed killer which costs about 3 times the price out here.
Longcol - don't know what washing powder you use, but Lidl now do Ariel at slightly less than we pay in the UK.However we find Lidl's cheap 'Active' liquid works very well. Their chickens are also very good, as are the Charolais steaks. Our Lidl steaks were hands-down better than two which cost more than four times as much per kilo! (Comparison between friends when they stayed on the same campsite recently).
Its forty degrees here at the moment,, and after a lovely gazpacho for lunch we're going swimming in the local gorge - a fabulous spot with deep pools. Yesterday we were at the beach at Leucate and saw a 15 inch ray (flatfish with a long tail) swimming alongside us in.the shallows.
This weekend we're taking our caravan off site and going to see our son and his family. We're pitching.up in the field adjoining the gite where they're staying . Hope our hook up cable is long enough!!
We have also just moved to France all in all not a great deal of price difference. On some you win and some you lose.Even found a brewery that brews English bitter.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Thanks once again for your sound advice Val.
Went to Lidl in Gourdon today and the steaks are an absolute snip. They also had some great value looking wine - first time I've seen Cremant d'Alsace under 5 euro so I have invested a little.
For people in the Dordogne camping S of the river in the Domme / Castlenaud / Daglan area, Gourdon is well worth a visit for your supermarket shop rather than battling into Sarlat - approach the town from the SW on the D673 and on the outskirts on the RHS you'll find a Lidl and a big Carrefour next door to each other (share the same turn off the main road) and a couple of hundred yards further on is a large Intermarche (complete with shaded parking under the shop).
At the top an extra 5 mins drive but with a fraction of the traffic - and some gorgeous countryside.
