We plan to have the last 3 weeks of our next trip in Northern Spain.
Going down the west side and into Spain what and where are the best bits. We would like to go to Haro and maybe Picos de Europa. We have the eye witness Northern Spain guide but would love some site recommendations. We usually stay between 4 and 7 nights on a site depending on what there is to do in the area. We also like to get out on our bikes ( flat cycling if poss) our 3 weeks will start about 8th Sept. cheers J x
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Santander is a wonderful place its buzzing with bars and tapas , don't just get off the ferry and drive ,if you have the time give it a visit.
It is probably a wonderful place, but when we get off the ferry we cannot wait to get onto the motorway to head south. Both of us have a strong dislike for large cities.
Santander is probably our least favourite destination along the Costa Verde.
There are so many places to visit and things to do along the north coast ... if you've never 'done it' ... then save on fuel costs (don't drive south) ... explore this amazing part of Spain. Cantabria and Asturias for a start.
Can I just add that we never did get to Spain last September as the weather in France was so good we never needed to go further south than The Dodogne. We have decided to take 8 weeks as our early trip in 2019 and go as far south in Spain as we need to for a bit of decent weather then take as long as we need coming from there over to the northern coast as the weather improves, this gives us a lot of scope for places to go to and I will get my planning head on as soon as the madness of the festive season has passed. We hope to set off on our travels May 1st via channel tunnel so any more ideas will be welcome.

Zumaia beach and cliffs are amazing if you are interested in geology, or even if you're not. Check that the tide is out when you visit.
Good walks on coast but take your walking poles.

Totally agree, Norther Spain is much nicer than the Brit infested Costa’s. 😳😳
