Going back to the original topic of this thread, I can only recommend that people join the Club Voyage scheme.
I've just booked for May and September next year.
£370.00 for May and £346.00 for September.
That's for return trips on the Portsmouth St-Malo route, overnight crossings each way with the four berth inside cabins and don't forget the £8.35 per person breakfast allowance and 10% off on other meals.
I do store the caravan in France which saves a good bit on the ferry costs.
I have previously checked out what the Caravan Club can do for me and it doesn't come anywhere near the saving I get through Club Voyage.
I think they've upgraded me a couple of times because I've ended up with bigger cabins with tv's in them.
Just a word of warning regarding their breakfasts:
I've previously found that you need a mallet and chisel to get through their bacon and the sausages are not too good, so I just had an egg, hash brown and beans. They still hit you for the full cost of a full cooked breakfast at the till - which didn't bother me because of the club voyage allowance, but if you're paying, beware.

I agree. I've just saved £70 on the outbound journey Portsmouth-St Malo alone for June next year, in a motorhome. We don't book the return crossing until we are ready to come back but anticipate the same sort of saving.

I've also got £40 worth of Family and Friends allowance to come off that yet as well, so an overall saving of about £180 before you start looking at breakfast and meal allowances.

However, sadly Gwen (the OP) can't join Club Voyage as she lives in Ireland and Brittany Ferries don't have a Club Voyage scheme there yet.

I wasn't aware of that. Having had a look, I see Brittany Ferries have competition on the Ireland - Brittany routes, so perhaps they should get their act together and set up Club Voyage for their Ireland users.
I'm sometimes tempted to shop around, but the Club Voyage scheme encourages loyalty to Brittany Ferries.

Brittany ferries used to have the best boat but IF are introducing their new cruise ferry so that may take a bit away from them.
Stena undercuts both IF and Brittany ferries but it is basic. Both Stena and IF offer a free trip to the UK if you book with them and Stena have a points system which can save you a few Euros but not much in a year.
If any of the three had a worthwhile loyalty scheme I would take it. As it is it is easier for me to go from Dublin or Roslaire than Ringaskiddy so I tend to use BF less.

I have also noticed that P&O North Sea services appear more expensive than previous years.

I am looking a little earlier than I usually would; does anyone know if they tend to come down a little in price later in the year?

P&O had 15% off 2018 bookings at the end of last year so it might be worth signing up to their mailing list and waiting a month or two to see whether they run a similar offer this year. This year I also had a pretty reasonable quote from the caravan and motorhome club which included a site so you could try them too.

Thanks, JacquiR. I'll sign up to their newsletter and see what happens. The last time we took Hull-Zeebrugge, we booked in about November time for an August crossing so maybe that coincides with the 15% reduction you mentioned. I m already comparing CAMC prices....we booked through them last time...so much cheaper!
